Born on February 15, 1951 in Hayes, Middlesex, England, her father was of Jewish descent and her mother of Dutch Protestant descent. Her mother had been a prisoner of war during World War II. Jane received her education at the Arts Educational School in Tring, Hertfordshire. Her real name is Joyce Penelope Wilhelmina Frankenberg; she decided to take on her stage name during her early education years. While she did have some minor roles in the late 1960s, her first major role that caused her to rise to international prominence was in the 1973 film Live and Let Die, for which she was ranked as 10th in the IGN Top 10 Bond Babes list. She has starred in other notable films, including: Somewhere in Time, East of Eden, War and Remembrance and Wedding Crashers.
